At approximately 0710 BST on 1 August 2008, this beautiful Bedlington terrier, Foggy, aged just 7, was shot in the owners front garden - sending tremors throughout the peaceful rural community. The Bedlington Terrier is a distinctive breed known for its gentle and loving nature. He leaves behind Kookie, another Bedlington (aged an impressive 15), his two owners Sue and Simon, and their two sons, Andrew and Paul. As everyone will attest, he was an extremely affectionate and playful character who brought immense joy to those around him. We were so lucky to have him in our lives. We know that he was shot with a precision air rifle. The sharpened pellet punctured his heart. He died within 20 minutes on the way to the local veterinary surgery. Worst of all, he suffered greatly and died in Sue’s arms. A police and RSPCA investigation is underway.
SUPPORT THE CAMPAIGN: His owners have created an online petition to express the strength of public feeling about Foggy’s death not only in the immediate region but also across the UK and indeed abroad. It will be submitted to the police and/or the respective Magistrates in due course. If you wish to sign the petition please go to www.rememberfoggy.com/Welcome.html
