Brainwashed

No blogging at the moment because I feel strangely compelled to watch the World Cup - when I close my eyes all I can see is little men running around on a green square. I hate football. I love rugby. Aaarrrggghhh!

Homeward bound

There were waves of happiness, tears of joy, and general laughter as we climbed aboard our mini-bus driven by hubbie to return to our normal humdrum routine after breakfasts, Guinnesses, dinners, discos, swimming pools, fairgrounds, double cycles, bingo, slides, mishaps, loosing Harry, karaoke, Chico, comedians, dancing, walking, sitting on the beach, listening to people quarrelling, having to call security, counting tattoos, watching football, tap dancing, seeing the oldest chalet, going to Gibraltar Point, markets, wind, drizzle, hot hot days, and most of all loving and caring for each other.

Eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow we diet!

If more of us valued food and cheer and song above hoarded gold, it would be a merrier world.

Slippin' and a'sleepin'

Slipping and sleeping
Sliding and leaping
We're been told
We are bold
Oh, we're big ravers
Nothing but jivers
Our hips are a'clickin'
Our muscles are aching
Oh, Susie Woosie
You are such a floosie
You know you better surrender
Oh, Shirley Girlie
She loves to twirly whirly
Oh Joanie
She never gives a moanie
And that Sandra
No-one can handle her
Sliding and sleeping
Laughing and sleeping
Owwwwww!

We fell for the word CELEBRATION!

If you like pomp, ceremony, rituals, sermons, hymns and other High Church things then this would have been for you.
We interpreted the word 'celebration' as a joyous event. Not quite - the best bit was the thunderstorm!

Thank you

The house seemed very empty this morning when I went downstairs. Muddle is usually sitting by the front door waiting to be let out to do his day's visiting. Instead there were two rather subdued tabby cats - they didn't even shout for breakfast. I've been told so many times that animals have no feelings - well all I can say to those people is 'feck off'.

Hey: So sorry to hear about Muddle, sounds as if lots of people will miss him. Take care & thinking of you. Haze x
Oh Tabi I am so sorry to hear this news. I am so sorry for you all. Claire XXX

We will miss his visits,

He left us earlier than usual.
The Dennys
Dear Tabbi, I am so sorry that your beautiful cat is no more. The lives of animals
are so short compared to ours, but when we have to have them put down,
that is doubley sad. Take care sweety. Ken.

Tabs, I am sorry to hear that muddle has gone to the great cat home in the sky,
its sooo awful when you let your pets go, wretched.

We cried when the goldfish died! and when we lost our last pussy, Susie we were devastated. Ellen

Sorry to hear about your cat,
it's a very difficult thing to have to do. Eroica x

Muddle goes on his final journey to the stars

Muddle, born 1998 in the wardrobe upstairs, was euthanised today at 5.30pm.
It is the hardest decision to make to end the life of an animal who has given so much joy and pleasure not only to us but many of our neighbours who would feed him. He always chose the lonely and alone to visit and come home to us at 7pm each evening having spread comfort and ease around our area.
He would then eat his meal and sit with us purring with contentment awaiting the adventures tomorrow would bring.
We'll look for you tonight in the stars Muddle.

Sorrow and joy

Ink, coloured pencil, wax crayons and watercolours

For Ada, Cornelis, Gert, John, Margo, Wim and to all those who have lost a parent they love

High Flight
Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings.
Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth
Of sun split clouds - and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed of; wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence. Hovering there
I've chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air;
Up, up the long delirious burning blue
I've topped the windswept heights with easy grace,
Where never lark nor even eagle flew;
And while, with silent lifting mind I've trod
The high, untrespassed sanctity of space
Put out my hand and touched the face of God.
