Faye Day
My friend Faye in Canada had her right breast removed today. She does breast examinations and she found a lump. Nor did she have a mammogram until last year - she had to have two because the first one did not expose properly. She always believed that mammograms increase the risk for developing breast cancer and raise the risk of spreading or metastasising an existing growth - there was no indication of growth. This is a total shock to all of us who know her as she has always been fit, healthy, vegetarian and did all the right things. She is at Stage 4 which means the cancer has spread to other organs in her body. Faye has decided to do things her own way which means no radio- or chemotherapy. She loves to travel and her husband Gregg told me that all she talked about when coming round from the anaesthetic was organising her first ever trip to Europe.
Hubbie has to work until 7pm tonight. And it's such shit weather. Mondays and Tuesdays he drives a 100 mile round trip and I hate it when he drives in the winter especially now with the tricky ice and snow. Plus the lunatic drivers around Fakenham. I am going to bed. Karen...your slow cooker is churning away in the kitchen! Feeling a bit exhausted by today's news and other emotional carnage.
