Carpets and Wim

This is Wim at his 60th birthday party. The woman next to the baby is Marlies his daughter. Wim (short for Wilhelmus Cornelis) is an architect and travels all over the places looking for buildings to design - he went to Valencia (boo to Ryan Airways for not flying their anymore) and to Norway. He is the oldest brother in the family and you can tell this for two reasons: 1. he has grey hair and 2. he has grown ears out of his head something which humans do when they get old.

Wim still has very good teeth as you can see from the next photo but I do not know who the baby is.
In the next photo Margo is explaining something to Wim and Marlies - probably telling him he has to eat all his dinner before he gets a pudding.

In the last photo I have taken a new job as carpet inspector. I am given a carpet and I have to chew and scratch it for one hour and if nothing breaks it goes to Carpet Wrong for sale. Carpet Wrong is opposite M15 in Cromer and is going to be taken over by Home Bash which has just opened. Too many things are happening for a Siamese to understand. We involve ourselves with more interesting things than takeovers and administration.

Operation, what operation?

I went to the theatre today but I don't remember much about the play because I fell asleep in the first minute. When I woke up I felt much better - TaTa says it's because I don't have hormoans rampaging through my system. I have been neutralised and also had a CatNav put in so if I get lost I can find my way home again. Had a quick look at the stitches - I think whoever did them should not take up quilting. I have heard you huwomen take 6 weeks to recover from being filleted - well us Siamese take about 6 hours. So who is the superior being?

Crazy

I'm not hungry, I'm not sleepy, I have a sore throat for all this shouting and have given myself a headache. I heard TaTa making an appointment at the vet for Wednesday. For some reason I find myself listening to Country & Western songs my favourites are: Blue Eyes 'A-Crying, In the Heart of a Siamese, I Can't Stop Loving Yow, Yeow Lonesome Meow. Muddle looks so gorgeously delicious. TaTa and KeKe had two hours sleep last night and KeKe was late for work. I don't care - I just want to make kittens and I will scream and yowl and moan and yell until I do. Surely a BoyCat can hear me in Scottishland - what do I have to do - put an ad in the mewspaper? I have even tried to hypnotise Muddle with my laser gaze but TaTa says he is neutral. Find me a TomCat nooooooow neeeeooooow.

A note from TaTa: I would love Tizit to have kittens but it would lead to a lot of heartache when it came to homing them also there are other reasons: a single un-spayed female cat can produce three litters a year, with an average of 4-6 kittens a year. This is just too many to add to the thousands that are in cat shelters. Personally I have no problem with feral cats as they serve a useful purpose in keeping down the rodent population and nature will only allow the strongest to survive. But sadly most feral cats are from domestic cats who give birth outside a domestic environment because they have been dumped by their owners. Un-spayed female cats go into heat several times a year. By spaying your cat, you can prevent several unwanted activities including spraying, hours of yowling or the fear of your cat escaping in order to find a mate. It is better for your cat's health to be spayed or neutered. For example, female cats that are spayed have a reduced chance of mammary cancer, and will be unable to develop pyometra, which is a serious uterine condition that can cause death.

Unfortunately and understandably a lot of people do not have their cats spayed or neutered because of the cost. Also a lot of animals suffer because owners cannot afford prohibitive vet bills - yes there are insurances but these usually have a £50 excess and do not cover certain things. Vets can basically charge what they like, the PDSA only gives free or reduced care to those on housing benefits or council tax benefits and the RSPCA also do not offer a free or reduced service. This can lead to people abandoning their pets or worse. Recently I paid almost £100 to have Twizzle put to sleep - this was for one blood test and one lethal injection - this not only added to the trauma of living with the consequences of my decision to end her life but somehow changed my relationship with my vet because he charged me to give him permission to kill my pet.

I am calling yoowwwwwwmeowmeow

This is Douis: Being the refined diva Tizit decided to waken TaTa and KeKe and everyone else in the household at 3.30am with her personal rendition of O meow babbino caro and she has entertained us with various arias since then ranging from Si mi chaimano Siamimi, O meow rimorso and tonight she told me she is going to enchant us with her dramatic and arousing version of Nessum Dormouse.
Here I am giving her some attention but I am not good enough. She is going to the vet next week to be neutralised. I think all this talk about babies has made her broody. I am going to lie down in a dark cupboard as I have a terrible headache.

I am exhausted!

I am going to have a little rest from the family pedigree - there are even more to come and I am tired out. I have heard there is chicken on the menu tonight so I shall make sure I have dark circles under my eyes so Ta-Ta gives me extra.

Gert

Yet another brother of Ke-Ke - Gert He is the twin of John (the one with the big hair). As you can see he is very tall. Ta-Ta says there are a lot of tall humans in Dutchland - some are over 2 metres - I think it is because a lot of them they are below sea level and they need to be tall to reach the oxygen. The Dutch think themselves very clever in making new land - for centuries, they have been reclaiming land from the ocean — so much so, that the Netherlands of today was approximately 60% underwater 1000 years ago but I would like to remind them that whatever humans can do animals can do better: beavers are known for their natural trait of building dams in rivers and streams and building their lodges in the resulting pond. Beavers also build canals to float build materials that are difficult to haul over land. They use powerful front teeth to cut trees and plants that they use for building and for food.
This is Boy Muddle - he is the love of my life but he is very grumpy. I think he finds me too exhausting as he is quite old. He likes to visit all the elderly ladies in the area and he gets lots of treats. Oh well I will just have to love him from afar. Sigh.

Finn

There is something so delicious in this bin I must find it. I don't know why humans get so upset when a bin is tipped over all they have to do is pick it up again.
The baby human is called Finn which means warrior or hero. He is with his mama Marije (she plays rugby!) and his uncle Ke-Ke. He likes to make a lot of noise, pancakes and salad.

Carmen, Carla and Mila

Here I am in my favourite place ever ... back with Ta-Ta while she puts things on mew-bay.
So now back to the family. There are so many of them I am a dizzy Tizzy and Ta-Ta did not visit them all! Ta-Ta loves travelling - she goes on the Dover-Dunkerque ferry and I am going with her next year. At present I am very busy taking everything out of the garbage basket because there is something that smells so delicious I cannot resist it.
In the first photo Carla is holding Mila. Carla is the mother of Carmen and there is Carmen next to her. At the moment Carmen's favourite colour is turquoise. Ta-Ta says this is the bestest baby in the whole wide universe. She is nine months old and laughs and smiles but
sometimes cries but not too much.
The next photo is Mila with her mama Carmen. This is in the house of Gert who is in Thailand. Ta-Ta said Mila's parents Carmen and Gerry are so loving to Baby Mila. Here Ta-Ta and Ke-Ke had a coffee and cake day for some of the family - not everyone could come - but there were the following people there: Ke-Ke, Ta-Ta, Mila, Carmen, Gerry, Rude-Boy, Margo, Sandra, Ellen, Marije, Finn and John.
It is funny for me to look at this photo because Ta-Ta always travel with her blannie (the pink one with hearts) I am telling you this to embarrass her.
The next photo is John, Mila, Carmen and Sandra. Sandra is the daughter of Rude-Boy and Margo. Ta-Ta says 'je moet t'huis blijven voor een paar meer weken omdat je nog moe bent en ik hou van jou and ik mis je'.
And last a little message for Sandra from Ta-Ta 'hoi lieve nichtje. Je bent een sterke meid met een fantastiche leven voor je. Ik hou je in mijn hart'.

Rude-Boy and Glaciers

This is the most active member of the family - Rude-Boy. He has spent his life cycling, running marathons and half-marathons, walking, and now at 60 years old he decides he is going to climb mountains and glaciers. He knows all about simple double spring leashes, prusik loops, karabiners, lanyards, harnesses, anchor loops, quickdraws, belays, ascenders, crampons and of course and most importantly safety.
I think these photos are taken in the Pyrenees and as you can see he is with two other climbers and also is the photo he is very happy.
In the third photo he is walking across an area which is quite dangerous because the wind has blown a false shelf on one side and if you walk on it - bye-bye!
Then we see Rude-Boy a little more normal running on the beach in Schevenigen - they do lots of wind-surfing, surfing and beach surfing there because it is always windy.
Then in the last photo you see the soft side of Rude-Boy with his grand-daughter Donnia who asked him to undo all her ballons. He managed it with two forks and then of course Donnia blew up the balloons and made them make rude noises
which everyone thought funny but humans are easily entertained.
Margo is sometimes a little worried when Rude-Boy goes climbing but Ta-Ta says a famous man once said: 'A man doesn't grow old because he has lived a certain number of years. A man grows old when he deserts his ideal. The years may wrinkle his skin, but deserting his ideal wrinkles his soul. Preoccupations, fears, doubts, and despair are the enemies which slowly bow us toward earth and turn us into dust before death. You will remain young as long as you are open to what is beautiful, good, and great; receptive to the message of other people and nature'.

So dude keep on barn-dooring, crimpering, edging, heel-hooking and stemming.

And for all your climbers out there Tizit says: 'always take in your heart the snow leopard - and maybe one day you will climb The Snow Leopard Mountains'

Johan Frans Junior

First about me. Here I am finishing off some lovely Dutch cream thing that Ta-Ta brought back from Dutchland. She says they have the best dairy products in the whole wide universe. All you have to say to her is 'hopjes vla, griesmelpap, vanilla vla, karnemelk, volle melk, bitterkoekpudding' and she goes into a trance.
Also I have some special news that my sister Poppy won FIRST PRIZE in a Siamese Cat Competition in Devon.
Now to Johan Frans Junior (John). In the first photo John is wearing dark glasses so you cannot recognise him. Now I think it is easy to find John because he has very special fur. He is known in Dutchland as a 'krullebol' which means curly head. Ta-Ta says his hair needs a little cut and you can see his curls properly. Also in the photo you see his sister Margo, his other sister Adrianna and his brother-in-heart Mohammed. I told you this family is complicated to follow. They are on a boat which is going down the Rijn River as John lives nearby. John used to be a psychologist but then changed his career to work in film and theatre and to become an astronaut .... moment Ta-Ta is calling something .... not astronaut - astronomist ... what ... astroturf ... okay ... astrologist. It is like a psychologist except he works with stars.
As you can see the sun always shines in Dutchland. Most humans think it rains all the time but it doesn't. So you can sit outside in cafes and have a cofee and cake and this is what John is doing here (is the woman next to John his girlfriend - he seems to like the look of her).
Also the Dutchland people talk all the time - they never stop - and they talk to themselves as well - Rude-Boy does that a lot.
In the last photo John has taken off his dark glasses because he is afraid the parakeet may steal them.

Rude-Boy and Margo

There have been some meows about me not being on every blog ... so this is to let you know there will be at least one photo of me on every blog whilst I explain about the Dutchland family. So for all those who missed me last time here I am! As you can see I am changing colours again - just like the leaves on the trees.

The second photo is of Rudolfus Abrahamus Alexander (brother-in-heart of Ta-Ta and Ke-Ke), Ta-Ta and Margo (sister of Ke-Ke). This is in their garden which is near the palace of the Dutch Queen - the Dutch Queen doesn't have great big houses like the English Queen and also she likes to ride a bicycle instead of riding around in a gold carriage or a big car. Ta-Ta has met the Dutch Queen and says she is
very nice and you don't have to wear a hat or curtsey or bow. Anyway Rude-Boy (as Ta-Ta calls him) is 60 and is always doing something social, technical, funny or climbing something - very difficult in Dutchland as their highest hill is 2 metres and they are below sea level so that really makes it minus 2 metres. Margo is Rude-Boy's wife and she works as a teacher's assistant - she used to be a radiologist so remember this every time you listen to the radio. Margo is very patient with Rude-Boy who is always wandering about on long walks, climbing glaciers and being silly in public places.
The next photo is Rude-Boy again with Margo and Ke-Ke. Ta-Ta and Ke-Ke arrived at 11.30pm and Rude-Boy was blowing a trumpet out of the
window. This is the day after and it was very hot in the garden. Rude-Boy got out a hammock and made burned bacon for breakfast. They also had muisjes (little mice) on their bread in the morning so I am beginning to like these humans more and more.

Then we have Rude-Boy in the cafe in Kijkduin. Ta-Ta said she would pay only if Rude-Boy would walk to the cash desk with her purse - so of course he did.

And the last photo I like very much because it reminds me of a famous statue called The Kiss by Rodent. This is Rude-Boy and Margo in the garden of Gert. Just in the corner you can see their daughter Ellen. Rude-Boy and
Margo have three daughters - Ellen, Sandra and Marije and a grandson called Finn.

The family of Adrianna (Ke-Ke sister) and Mohammed

Remember: if you want to make the photos really big you left click on them - if you want to copy them you right click on them. Now this is a complicated one for me to explain - so pay attention.
The first photo is in a cafe in Kijkduin - they are eating Tiramisu with cream and chocolate pie. The human man standing is Rudolphus Abrahamus Alexander. He is a social worker and he also climbs glaciers. He cannot sit still for more than five minutes and tells Ta-Ta lots of rude words in Dutch. The human woman with the white-blond hair is Margo, the wife of Ruud. Margo is the sister of Ke-Ke who is mydad. The woman with the brown headscarf is Adrianna Janna who is the sister of Ke-Ke. They had a lot of fun and Adrianna ate a whole portion of huge chocolate pie herself - so I like her a lot! The second photo is of Ta-Ta, Adrianna and Margo on the promenade in
Scheveningen. It was very windy that day and Margo got sand behind her contact lenses and had to wear some sunglasses. Adrianna looks very pretty and is the only one without her hair blowing about. Adrianna is 56 in human years and has an illness called Alzheimer's and sometimes she forgets things and cannot do the things she did before like cooking. Have a look at the Alzheimer's site and you can even buy a gift or give money to help this charity. Adrianna is a very special human and she loves to laugh and dance. Sometimes she becomes very sad but she has many humans to love her and I love her too because Ta-Ta says she is beautiful.
Now is this photo we have on the left Nedra who is the daughter of Mohammed and Adrianna.
Then we have Mohammed who is a fantastic cook so I like him. He made rice with lamb one day (yum) and then couscous with chicken (double yum) another and Ta-Ta was in time for the Sugar Festival when they eat lots of sweet things and make their teeth hurt. Mohammed was born in Tunisia which is somewhere else than Dutchland or England. In front of Mohammed is his son Sadradine. Then on the right is Adrianna the wife of Mohammed. Then there is Donnja who is the daughter of Monia (she is not in the photo - Monnia is the daughter of Mohammed and Adrianna, then there is Scharma who is training to be a fashion designer and she had a sore throat. Then there is Ta-Ta. In the next photo is Ke-Ke,
Mohammed and Sadradine. They are playing dumme (chequers or draughts) and Mohammed was being very naughty and giving tips to his son in Arabic. Ke-Ke won though!
In the next photo is Adrianna, who did not give Ta-Ta any tips, then Ta-Ta playing dumme with Sadradine. Ke-Ke said she started very well and then lost concentration (which is normal for Ta-Ta because she becomes bored very easily). Ke-Ke said that Sadradine was a little nervous because Ta-Ta played so well.
Sadradine is very nice - he has a broomfeets which I thought first was a special cleaning thing but Ta-Ta says it is spelled bromfiets and is a small motorbike - but it is in Tunisia. I don't know why but it is. There are many more humans in this family - Mohammed and Adrianna's children are: Monia, Mouez, Sadradine, Scharma, Nedra and Amel - the grandchildren are Donnja, Geradine, Mohammed and there are two more but I cannot remember their names because like some Dutch names, Arabic names are hard to say with lots of very hard g (like in loch) and rolling r and j which is yer - so it gives me a bit of a headache because us Siamese have only soft letters and sounds in our language.

Ta-Ta is back!

A big surprise! Ta-Ta came back one week early and I am so excited I make myself into a present. I am very happy she is back and I leave her a little surprise of my own in her suitcase. She has done something strange to her fur but says the furdresser here can fix it.

More Baby Mila

I think this baby is almost as beautiful as me so here are some more photographs. The humans are her dada Gerrie and her mama Carmen.

I explain the pedigree of Baby Mila.
Carmen is the daughter of Gert and Carla. Gert is the brother of Ke-Ke.

There will be a lot of photos and a lot of pedigrees coming on this blog for they are such a big family but the next blog will be of me.
