Camargue

It was a very overcast day when we visited the Camargue with a few spots of rain (unlike the rest of the vacation which was full sunshine). It is a bleak and wild area full of mud flats, salt marshes, lagoons and open rugged fields. The white horses are not wild, they roam free and are cared for by the cowboys of Camargue. The saddle used to ride them is similar to the Western saddle except the front has interlaced leather strapping for a more resilient grip. Flamingos roam the marshes.
