Snowfall

A bit more snow fell overnight. Nothing drastic. It's great to hear the kids laughing in the streets, dragging their sleds around.
Of course someone had to spoil their fun by saying 'the sun's out, so it won't last long'. It's around 0 C so there is a chance it could stay if the temp stays at this level and then drops.
The roads are hazardous as this town is surrounded by steep hills - so no-one can get out! I expect there will be a dash for the new Sainsbury's in town to strip the shelves bare.
Much of Norfolk has been hit by wintry snow showers with more expected later tonight and into tomorrow morning.
Travel networks may be affected by snow tomorrow and up to 20cm of snow could fall in some parts of East Anglia, with gale-force winds causing drifts.
Goody goody. Maybe hubbie won't be able to get to work tomorrow! It would be lovely to be snowed in - I think the only time that happened is the second year we were living in this area.
Problems with the Eurostar again. Must have been frightful being stuck in that tunnel for 16 hours - we can all be close to delays and disasters. Hubbie's brother took the ferry after the Herald of Free Enterprise, his other brother was sitting in a cafe in Indonesia a week before it was bombed, my friend Wendy was in Newark trying to get a flight to Chicago the day of 9/11 - that's what happens in this travelling world.
If we all stayed at home, minded our own political and religious business, didn't seek faster and better ways of getting anywhere and trotted around like Victorian heroines through the countryside then maybe these things wouldn't happen.
My friend Claire in Australia says: "thank you for the snow...loved it. Cant wait for the winter olympics xx thank the goddess its raining! After endless days of heat heat heat, well in fact many weeks, we have rain and the temp is down to about 20 is...such a drop from mid 30's..unlike you my der I would love soe snow right now and hot steaming bowl of mussels at No:10 and a roaring log fire!! Funny how life goes. Big hugs and sunshine xxxxxxxxxxxxxx"
